Be Fluent in Everything Fleur de Lis

The City of Louisville, Kentucky was founded in 1778 by George Rogers Clark and is named after King Louis XVI of France. The Fleur de Lis is branded on our city’s official seal in honor of the assistance King Louis provided to the American colonies during the Revolutionary War. So…in case you didn’t know this important historical information, now you do. This, my friends is why you will see this symbol everywhere in Louisville!
